Valentine's Day: Whoop-dee-frickin-doo.
Posted February 14, 2007
I'm not sure why I feel compelled to post about this at all. But I will ask you this one question, Internet: is 9:45 am too early to begin eating chocolate on Valentine's Day, do you think?
If you'd like to actually read something amusing about this most superfantastic. of all days, go here.
And have a good one. Or have some chocolate.

9:45 is ABSOLUTELY NOT too early for chocolate!!!! We were decorating cupcakes and liking LOTS of frosting at 9:30, so I think you are good.

Never too early (nor late) for chocolate. I'm shocked you'd even suggest such a thing. I had a brownie for breakfast.

I agree with Jennifer. I have not had any chocolate yet today. I must remedy this situation.

Awwww, thanks for the link! I LOVE Valentine's Day. I get to think about all the special people I've dated...and then make fun of them on the Internet.
Chocolate is perfectly acceptable, 24 hours a day. So says the chocolate chip cookies I ate for breakfast.

I wish I could eat chocolate but right now my throat is so sore it hurts to swallow water.

If 9:45 isn't too early for wine, I'm pretty sure we'll let chocolate slide. Mmmm. Both would be good right about now.

I'm with Kris. Yes to both, anytime. Silly girl.

:( I didn't get chocolate for V day. But I will say it is never too early for chocolate. Though I am suffering under this evil, evil snow, I am really quite grateful to live only 20 minutes from Hershey, which reaks of chocolate and is chock full of wonderful chocolate experiences. If you go to their spa, they give cocoa massages...it costs a bagillion dollars but I will do it before we move from this place. :)

That depends on the type of chocolate.
It's perfectly acceptable, or it should be at least, to eat good chocolate (therefore, it is never acceptable to eat white "chocolate") at any time of the day. It is never acceptable to eat bad chocolate at any time of the day.
Why should Valentine's Day be any different?

Christopher, I COULD NOT AGREE MORE. White "chocolate" is not chocolate and should therefore be referred to as white substance.

Or you could call it, "I can totally believe it's not chocolate." But that's sort of long...

I like the way you think, Lori, but I think we could go further. Let's just ban "white chocolate" altogether. Then those evil bastards who try to sell the stuff to those saps who claim to actually enjoy it (They must be lying.) would have to sell REAL chocolate.
Then again, that would mean that there would be less chocolate for those of us in the know. Hmm, this is a tough one. Does my hatred for "white chocolate" outweigh my selfish desire to own the world's supply of dark chocolate?
On second thought, you fools can keep your "white chocolate". Lori and I and the sane ones among us will be eating the REAL chocolate over there.

My indignation at your belief that flavor is the primary determination of what chocolate is is palpable ... and can be felt here http://fermentedbaker.typepad.com/fermented_baker/2007/02/a_black_and_whi.html
oh, and, ah ... thanx for the ad Lori! :)
