CSI: SVU

The crime scene:
At first glance, everything appeared undisturbed. Shaping minds, touching hearts. Check, check.
Upon further investigation, however, all was not clearly right here:
Where are the red flags? They were between the light blue and purple flags when I last looked and now they're ALL GONE.
The evidence
BUSTED. Suspect was apprehended. He maintained his innocence, despite incontrovertible evidence. He was tried, convicted, and sentenced to In School Suspension.
The victim is coping as best she can what with the Post-Its being ALL UNEVEN AND WRONG AND EVERYTHING IS RUINED FOREVER.
Honestly, I don't know how I can be expected to shape minds and/or touch hearts under these conditions.

I can't even look at that picture! I would have to move the purple and pink flags one space toward the center and get rid of the blue all together. That way the two ends would be empty and you'd have some semblance of organization among the survivors.
Not wanting to waste the stack of blue, I would come up with some alternative creative use. Enhance their value so that your students covet them. Make them rewards for good behavior/deeds/work. Most importantly, be sure to never, ever, under no conditions ... give one to the little thief! Corporal punishment may be outlawed but mental anguish is much harder to prove in court.

My "roommate" (we don't have enough classrooms in the English department, and there are 4 of us who share home-bases) had her cell phone stolen by one of her students at the end of the day.
Her husband, in an attempt at guilt-tripping the student to return the phone, texted it with "Mason is hurt, we are in the ER" (Mason is their son, and my roommate shares much of her personal life with her students, so they know her son's name), and the thief replied back, "She ain't got her phone pimp."
Teaching our future is depressing sometimes!!! :)
