"You can take it as a roadie!"

Posted September 21, 2010

That would be Excellent Savannah Quote #1. We first heard it on Friday night when we were downing our beers in preparation for leaving one bar to go to another. But we didn't have to! We could take it as a roadie!

In downtown Savannah, you can take your drink to go as long as it's in a plastic cup. Further, our hotel had a free happy hour for guests with wine and champagne. Generously poured. Very, very generously.

Which explains why I am standing outside in this photo with two keg cups full of champagne.

Now that's klass, right there. We walked into the casual wedding reception (there had been a formal one earlier) with these. The bride, seeing this, said, "You got it as a roadie?"

Oh, Savannah. You're delightful.

And colorful! Internet, I have so many stories. And yes, I intend to drag them out as long as possible. I swear, it'll be worth checking back.

I think this blog post was probably a sweet beginning to a potential series of articles about this topic. So many users act like they comprehend what they are writing about when it comes to this area and really, very few people actually get it. You seem to grasp it though, so I think you need to start writing more. Thank you!

Normally I'd mark this comment as spam and delete it, but I love the idea that I have a special comprehension of the topic of drinking outdoors and should write a series of articles about it. This spam is correct on one point - I did grasp my roadies. Otherwise they would have spilled.
