In Hong Kong, specifically.
He did have to leave early so the ship could get out ahead of super typhoon Usagi. (Of course there would be a SUPERTYPHOON headed straight for us during the four days we were supposed get to spend together. Just...of course.) But before that, I got to see, touch, and kiss my man.
I got in late Tuesday night and set out Wednesday morning to walk over to where I'd been told the ship would pull in. Except I missed my turn. I doubled back and cut through a huge mall on the water. There were a bunch of people out on a balcony taking pictures, but of what?
Aha! Once I wound my way back through the mall to where I could get to the ship, I found two women standing outside in cute summer dresses with their hair and make up done. Double aha! (One would later tell me that she never wears eye make up and had been worried all morning that she was smearing it.) They confirmed that I was in the right place and then a sailor came over to ask the three of us whether we wanted to board the ship to wait.
Forty-five long minutes later, there was Raj, live and in person, walking into the hangar bay, smiling at me and telling me he liked my seahorse dress. We waited in line together to sign him out (I was his liberty buddy) and I chattered at him nonstop the entire time like a four year-old. (...and then!and then!and then!)
And then? We left the ship and had adventures in Hong Kong. Together.
