...the newest member of our household! Our new pet/exterminator.
We see geckos pretty regularly around our house, which pleases me to no end as I think they're cute and appreciate all the bug eating they do. Generally they startle me at first because I just catch movement and assume it's a large insect. Sometimes we startle each other, often when I pull back the shower curtain to find one in the tub. I always apologize to the lizard. Out loud. Yup.
I named the first little gecko I saw in our house Kenny, which is how I think of all of them now. But the guy in that picture is no Kenny. His body is roughly the size of my thumb, making him much larger than the Kennys. He'll be pretty good-sized once his tail finishes growing back. While his size does concern me regarding the size and/or number of insects we may be hosting, I'm still happy to have him around.
I've named him Eddie. Eddie Lizzard. Though I assume he's only offering the one option to our household bugs: death.
Writing this post inspired me to go watch the Eddie Izzard Lego Cake or Death video, which led me to click on the Eddie Izzard Lego Ten Commandments video that I had not seen before, in which the golden calf is named...wait for it...Kenny.
