Our house is a three story townhouse with a walk-out basement. There's a guest room in the basement where you can't hear the baby cry. Well, unless it's her really hysterical screaming, which thankfully is very rare. Occasionally, either Raj or I will sleep down there so we can get a whole night's sleep. These days, we only have to get up with Jo about every other night (maybe two out of three) and only once. But even on nights when we don't have to get up, she'll usually wake us up a couple of times by crying for a minute and then going back to sleep. Which is great for her, but I then lie awake for quite some time. And she's usually up for the day around 6am.
Raj is on ICU right now and he has to switch back and forth between working days and nights. One night recently, he was planning to stay up as much of the night as he could in order to switch his body over so he told me I should go sleep downstairs so I could get a whole night's sleep. Naturally, Jo slept all night. Of course she did.
The next night, Raj was off at work and Jo got me out of bed to change and feed her around 3am. So I was already thinking WHY DO YOU LOVE DADDY MORE THAN ME?!?!?!? I put her down still awake and got back in bed, expecting her to cry.
Instead, I heard a very happy voice from next door singing DADADADADADADA ooooooooooooh! DADADADADADADA ooooooooooooh! And so on.
Don't let that innocent face fool you. This is an extremely naughty baby.
